Bar Ombré is situated in the Gateway Building in Circular Quay. To access the venue, you can either entre via: 

1. Loftus St: Enter through the Gateway Food Court which is next to the Paragon Hotel, where you can take the lift directly up to Level 3 and Bar Ombré Rooftop. 

2. Alfred St: Enter through the Gateway Building entrance between Gelato Messina and Betty's Burgers, where you can take two escalators up to Level 2 and our sister venue Salt Meats Cheese. From there you can either take the lift or the stairs up to Level 3 and Bar Ombré Rooftop.

3. Macquarie Place: Enter through the Gateway Office tower doors, located on the corner of Reiby Place and Loftus St, just after Macquarie Place. Walk through the lobby to the Gateway Retail Tower doors where you can take one escalator up to Level 2 and our sister venue Salt Meats Cheese. From there you can either take the lift or the stairs up to Level 3 and Bar Ombré Rooftop. 

The Gateway building is located directly across from Circular Quay Train Station, Ferry Terminal and Tram stop. The best Uber/Taxi drop off point is on Loftus St and the closest parking is the Wilson Parking in the Gateway building off Reiby Place. 

Bar Ombré is open from:

• 4pm to 10pm Monday to Wednesday. 

• 12pm to 12am Thursday to Saturday. 

• 12pm to 10pm Sunday 

Please note, we require a credit card to secure your booking. Your card will not be charged at this time. You may cancel or change your booking (subject to availability) at no cost up to 6 hours before the time of your reservation. We understand plans may change however cancellations, no-shows and any changes to guest count without prior notice made after the 6-hour deadline may be subject to a charge of $20pp. 

Yes, there is a 10% surcharge for Sundays and a 15% surcharge for Public Holidays. 

A standard reservation at Bar Ombré is a 2-hour seating. 

Yes, a 10% discretionary surcharge applies to all bookings of 10 guests or more. 

Yes, we most certainly can cater to large groups and private events! 

• For groups up to 20 guests: For groups of up to 20 people, for a standard 2-hour seating, no minimum spend is required and all bookings can be made online for your convenience! 

• For groups larger than 20 guests: For all bookings over 20 people and for longer than our 2-hour seating window including Exclusive Hire, a minimum spend is required. This spend varies based on your booking date, time and number of guests. Please email ciao@barombre.com.au with these details to get in touch with our events team!

Bar Ombré can cater to 120 guests seated or 250 guests standing at any given time. 

You are welcome to bring a celebration cake however please note that we charge a cakeage fee of $3 per person. 

You are more than welcome to bring decorations however all decorations must not be attached to any part of the venue, must not block walkways, exits or views, and must be removed at the end of your event. 

Bar Ombré is an open rooftop bar. Unfortunately, we do not offer private rooms for hire, unless it is exclusive hire of the entire venue. For semi-exclusive bookings, a section of tables, chairs and standing room are reserved for your event. This area however is not cordoned off or private.

You can specify seating requests to our venue management who do table arrangements on the day of your reservation, however, seating requests can only be advised and not always guaranteed.

Yes. Bar Ombré Rooftop is 70% sheltered but not enclosed. 

In the case of wet weather, our friendly staff make every effort to ensure you are comfortable during your reservation by moving tables underneath our overhead cover as well as the use of our outdoor heaters and blankets during the colder days if necessary. However, we cannot always guarantee that this will be enough guard from the wind or rain as the weather is unfortunately still out of our control.  

As we are a rooftop venue, we have limited seating capacity during bad weather. We will always try to accommodate guests who have bookings however we cannot guarantee a table in the undercover area. Bookings may be cancelled during severe weather conditions. In these cases, guests can opt to dine at our sister venue, Salt Meats Cheese, located on the lower level, subject to availability.

Our A la carte menu provides Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free and Coeliac Friendly options for your convenience. For any cultural requirements, we recommend guests choose our Vegetarian or Vegan options. We are also happy to discuss any dietary requirements upon your arrival and determine how we can best accommodate them. Bar Ombré Rooftop cannot guarantee that all dishes are completely free of allergens. 

Yes, at Bar Ombré we also serve mocktails, non alcoholic beer and wine, soft drinks, juices, still and sparkling water

Yes we have several in-house DJ’s and live bands for your enjoyment. Please see our live music page at https://www.barombre.com.au/livemusic to see who is currently scheduled for the month!

• DJ’s: Our resident DJ’s perform every Friday, and Saturday from 6pm to 12am and Sunday afternoon/evening from 2pm to 8pm. Follow our social media platforms for real-time updates on the lineup of performers. Entertainment is subject to change at any time. 

• Live Music: Bar Ombre also hosts live music trios and duos at our venue. These often happen on Sunday afternoons or for dpedi

Live Music: Due to increased sound restrictions and for operational reasons we have chosen to take a break from hosting live entertainment at our venue. We aim to bring live entertainment back to the venue soon.

Bottomless Sundays is on every Sunday in 3 time slot choices, 12pm – 2pm, 1pm - 3pm or 2pm – 4pm. Bookings can be made at https://www.barombre.com.au/whats-on/bottomless-lunch.

Yes. We kindly request that all guests within a reservation participate in Bottomless Sundays, unless specific dietary requirements such as Vegan or Gluten Free are present. 

Yes. 

• For non-alcoholic guests: Non-alcoholic guests and minors under 18 years who wish to partake in Bottomless Sundays can enjoy a range of beverage options as part of their package. We offer mocktails, lemon lime bitters, a selection of soft drinks, juices, as well as still and sparkling water. It's important to note that the package price remains the same for these guests.

• For person with dietary requirements: Vegetarian guests can be accommodated in the Bottomless Sundays package. However, for guests who follow a Vegan or Gluten Free diet and wish to participate in Bottomless Sundays, we recommend ordering from our A la carte menu instead. Please note that the majority of the alcohol on our Bottomless Sundays menu is not vegan. Additionally, if we were to modify some of the food items in the Bottomless Sundays package to be Vegan or Gluten Free, it would involve additional costs. Dietary requirements: Vegetarian guests can be accommodated in the Bottomless Sundays package. However, for guests who follow a Vegan or Gluten Free diet and wish to participate in Bottomless Sundays, we recommend ordering from our A la carte menu instead. At Bar Ombré, minors are most welcome however must be accompanied by an adult aged 25 years or older. To ensure compliance, food must be ordered for the entire table and minors are not permitted to approach the bar at anytime. *Please also note that all minors count towards the final numbers for a booking. If a high chair is required, kindly include a note in your booking. 

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted at Bar Ombré unless it is a certified guide dog or companion pet. 

Absolutely! We are pleased to provide wheelchair/lift access to ensure your comfort and accessibility. Bar Ombré is conveniently located in the Gateway Building at Circular Quay. To reach the venue via lift, please make your way to Loftus St and enter through the Gateway Food Court, adjacent to the Paragon Hotel. From there, you can take the lift directly up to Level 3, where you will find Bar Ombré Rooftop.

The closest carpark to Bar Ombré is the Wilson Carpark located in the Gateway Building, accessible via Reiby Place in Sydney, NSW.
